Currently Reading: Into Africa: The Epic Adventures Of Stanley And Livingstone By Martin Dugard

Someone mentioned David Livingstone at church the other day and I realized that besides exploring Africa in a general way, that I knew nothing about the man and his relationship with Henry Stanley. I decided to purchase Into Africa by Martin Dugard and I have really gotten into it. This a a never-ending adventure story with twists and turns with quite a bit of bloodshed and savagery. Mr. Dugard has done an exceptional job in researching these men and the side characters that had so much influence on this adventure and these men. The author explores not just the positive and enduring characteristics of the main characters but shows us the downside of the characters as well. As I have stated in previous posts, I really enjoy reading about men and women that I don’t know much about or have made assumptions which in reading are corrected. I highly recommend this book, as I have stated earlier, as an adventure story that you can’t put down.
