I ran across these in my reading this week and I hope they may be of interest:
The American Way Of Poverty: How The Other Half Still Lives Sasha Abramsky
This book focuses on a problem dear to my heart: poverty in America. Mr. Abramsky tells the stories of the new working poor as well as the long-term chronically poor. He also looks at the financial inequality and brings forth ideas about how to move America towards a fairer system.
Explores how Evangelicals use adoption in the form of The Great Commission as well as the how and why Christians adopt children from the Third World. Ms. Jones also explores the crimes against children as well as the conflicts between the religious right, adoption trade groups and the U.S. government.
